FRA/ORD/02/10: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE REHABILITATION OF NATUSEKO & BWANAMKUBWA GRAIN SILOS
The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) wishes to rehabilitate its concrete grain silos located at Kabwe (Natuseko) and Ndola (Bwanamkubwa).
The works will include civil/structural repairs to the concrete bins and silo buildings, repairs to the mechanical and electrical equipment, painting and general uplift of the plant and buildings.
For this purpose, the Agency requires the services of suitably qualified Consultants with wide knowledge and experience in grain silos and grain handling equipment. The consultants should also demonstrate competence in electrical, civil and structural engineering, as they relate to grain silo operations.
The Consultant will undertake consultancy work leading up to the rehabilitation of the grain silos and auxiliary facilities as detailed in the terms of reference. Consultants are expected to make arrangements at their own expense to visit the silos and acquaint themselves with the scope of works.
The Agency now invites proposals, for consulting services for the rehabilitation of Natuseko and Bwanamkubwa Grain Silos. Consultants are requested to state clearly whether or not they are submitting their proposal alone or in association. The successful firm will be selected under Quality and Cost Based Selection (QBS) method procedures described in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

HOWEVER, TELEGRAPHIC AND/OR ELECTRONIC OFFERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The proposals should be sent clearly marked, “Request for proposals for consulting services for the rehabilitation of Natuseko and Bwanamkubwa Grain Silos”, addressed to the Executive Director, Food Reserve Agency, Plot 7419, Manda Road, Industrial Area, Lusaka, Zambia.
The sealed proposals must be deposited in the Tender Box at the reception area, Food Reserve Agency, Plot 7419, Manda Road, Industrial Area, Lusaka, Zambia not later than Friday 19th March 2010 at 14:30 hours local time. Proposals received after the time and date stipulated above will not be accepted. The proposals will be opened in the Conference Room on the same date in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend
